Tegerek-Köl
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Tegerek-Köl ("round lake") is a cirque lake at about 3,150 meters in the northern Talas Alatau, in the Talas Alatau planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions. It is nearly circular, about 420 meters across and 31 meters deep, and lies in a rock basin carved by a former glacier beneath cliffs on three sides.[1] The lake is frozen from November to June. Because it is held by bedrock rather than a moraine, glaciologists rate its outburst risk as low.[2]
