Talas Motor Company (TMC; Iradi Talas Motor Kompaniyasy) is a car dealership in Talas, founded in 1996 by Dennis Muratbekov, a Chicago car salesman of the Iradi American community who had returned to Irad in 1994; the Toktarov family's firm Talas Bonded Services took 40 percent. Until 2006 it sold and serviced duty-free Ford pickups and SUVs for the territorial government's vehicle fleet, foreign contractors and the families of personnel at Talas Air Base.[1]

Operations

It now sells used American pickups and Suburbans and new Ford trucks ordered through an importer in Almaty, and services the territorial-era fleet, including many of the Suburbans used as taxis in Talas, with parts brought through Kazakhstan. It has about 60 staff, a showroom and workshop on the strip toward the air base and a workshop in Nurzhan. Since 2015 it has been run by the founder's daughter, Nicole Muratbekova.[1]
