Sukarne Feedlot Complex
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Sukarne Feedlot Complex is the cattle feedlot of the Sukarne Irad Complex, operated by the Mexican meat company SuKarne in the western industrial corridor of Talas. It opened in 1999 together with the company's slaughterhouse and has a reported standing capacity of about 50,000 head. Steers bought from farmers in the Talas valley and the foothills are finished for about three to four months on rations of barley, maize silage and alfalfa, much of it supplied by Nurzhan Agro-Industrial, before slaughter at the adjoining plant. Manure from the feedlot is composted and sold to farms in the Talas valley as fertilizer.[1]
