Nurzhan Press House

Nurzhan Press House (Russian: Издательский дом «Нуржан») is a Russian-language media company in Nurzhan that publishes the weekly Vecherniy Nurzhan ("Evening Nurzhan") and owns the radio station Radio Chu FM. It was registered in 2001 as Radio Chu LLC to launch the station, which went on air on 104.5 FM on 1 September 2001, and took its present name in 2004, when it bought the weekly from its staff shareholders.[1]
Ownership and outlets
Its general director, the former refinery communications engineer Gleb Kalinin, owns 55 percent, Lyudmila Savchenko, the paper's editor from 1991 to 2011, 30 percent, and eleven former staff the rest. It has about 48 staff at the House of the Press on Azatlık Prospect and lives on advertising, much of it from NurGaz and other Nurzhan firms.[1] Vecherniy Nurzhan, founded in 1968 as Vecherniy Kobozev, is read mainly by older residents and keeps close to the official line. Radio Chu FM plays Russian pop and evening chanson and carries the call-in program Gorod ("The City"); it is the most-listened station in Nurzhan (see Media of Irad).[2]
