From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Nurbek Tilek uulu (1999–2007) was an eight-year-old boy killed in the shelling of the Kara-Buura villages by the National Guard in May 2007, whose photograph became the best-known poster of the Front.[1]

Life

He was a pupil in the class of Zarina Marat kyzy, who was killed in the same shelling.[1]

The poster

His father took the photograph at a school concert. The Front printed it with the words "Whose child?", and the press of the DPI called it propaganda. In 2017 his parents, who joined neither side, asked that it no longer be used.[1]
