Noga-Baw
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Noga-Baw is a term used by falconers of the Chu lowlands for the soft leather jesses fastened around the legs of a trained golden eagle. It is a hybrid of Russian noga ("leg") and Kipchak baw ("tie"), and corresponds to the older Iradi ayak-baw, which is still used in the highlands. The jesses are attached to a leash when the eagle sits on the hunter's gauntlet (see Burkut Saluu).
