Kuble (Culture)
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Kuble is a term of traditional Iradi cosmology for spiritual orientation toward Polaris (Irad), seen as a waypoint guiding people toward a transcendent homeland. In the liturgical language of the Syro-Iradi Catholic Church it denotes the orientation of the sanctuary toward Polaris. Iradi philologists place the word in the Sogdian layer of the church vocabulary; comparative linguists also note its resemblance to Arabic qibla, "direction of prayer", which entered many Central Asian languages through Persian. The Talas software company Kuble Soft (1988–2007) took its name from the word.
