Khunuk Creek

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Khunuk Creek is a stream that rises in the foothills of the Fergana Range above Iyık Janyl and flows through the summer quarter of Shahr-i Khunuk to the Naryn at the upstream end of the city. It is cold and fast, fed by springs and snowmelt.[1] Teahouses and orchards line its banks in the quarter, and since the 2000s private villas have been built along it, a change criticized by local heritage groups.[2]
