Iradi Leatherworks Factory

The Iradi Leatherworks Factory is a leather goods manufacturer in Talas. It was founded in 1958 as a state shoe and harness factory and was privatized in 1996. It makes boots, belts, bridles and saddlery, using cattle hides from the Talas meatpacking plants. Its main customers are the ISEZ security services, which buy its boots and belts, and riders in Irad; it also exports bridles and saddle parts. Cutting is mechanized, while bridles and saddles are finished by hand.[1]
