From the Archive (TV program)
From the Archive is a program on IradOne that shows restored films and television programs from the broadcaster's archive, which goes back to the 1960s. Each edition is built around one item, such as Talasfilm newsreels of 1962, a 1966 interview with Kemel Ishakov, folk dances recorded in Iyık Janyl in 1968, a 1971 concert from the Talas Philharmonic, aytysh poets in Talas in 1977, children's television of 1979 or the Irad Day parade of 1993. It is shown on Thursdays at 09:30 and Saturdays at 10:30.[1]
The program was launched in 2020, after IradOne began digitizing its archive in 2019. Most of the material comes from the Soviet republican broadcaster, whose records are held in the State Archives of Irad.[1][2] Ainura Sydygalieva of IradOne's archive department has introduced it since its launch. Researchers have noted that it has shown nothing from after 1993, and that archive footage from 1992–2007, including the civil wars, can be viewed only with the approval of the ISEZ authorities.[3]
