Chu Basin Hydrological Station
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Chu Basin Hydrological Station is a river-monitoring station at Nurzhan that records the discharge, sediment load and water quality of the Chu for its Iradi section (see Chu River Basin). Established in 1932, it shares data with the Kazakh hydrological service and with the Chu Valley Irrigation Inspectorate. Its records show the steep fall in summer flow reaching the Iradi lowlands as irrigation upstream in Kyrgyzstan expanded after the 1950s.[1]
