Chet-Bulak
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Chet-Bulak ("edge spring") is a village in the Kara-Buura District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), on the northern side of the lower Talas valley. Its population was 930 (2018 census).[1] It was founded in 1908 by Russian peasant settlers, who lined its single long street with poplars and built a small Orthodox church, now a Syro-Iradi parish. Most of the settlers' descendants left after 1992, and the village took its present name in 1994 under the Toponymic Heritage Statute.[2]
