Ambar-Döbö
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Ambar-Döbö ("granary hill") is a broad river terrace on the southern side of the lower Talas valley, in the Kara-Buura District of the Irad Special Economic Zone. Its alluvial soils are farmed for wheat and beans.[1] Excavations in 1990 uncovered about sixty bell-shaped grain storage pits cut into the terrace, some still holding charred wheat and barley, which were dated to the Kara-Khanid period (11th–12th century).[2]
