Almazbek Kasymov (1936 – 2014) was an Iradi woodcarver who made carved walnut doors and panels for public buildings. Trained in his father's workshop near the walnut forests of the Fergana Rim, he carved the main doors of the Hall of Justice in Talas, which houses the Supreme Court of Irad, and of the National Historical Museum of Irad in the 1990s, as well as the carved sanctuary screen of the Church of St. Yuhanna in Talas.[1] His designs combine ram's-horn scrolls (koshkar muyuz) with crosses and stars.[2]
