Aksay Emergency Shelter

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Aksay Emergency Shelter is a stone hut on the track to the Aksay Plateau, below the pass onto the plateau, on the tribal side of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line. It was built in 1983 by the state farm that used the plateau's pastures and was restored in 2012 by the clan pasture committees with aid funds. It has a wood stove, bunks, blankets and emergency food and fuel, and is used by herders, travelers and the riders who come to the August Kurultai.[1]
