Ak-Taylak (Folklore)
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Ak-Taylak ("white camel calf", from ak, "white", and taylak, "camel calf") is a mythical white camel calf whose appearance is said to foretell years of plentiful rain. The legend is told mainly among the camel-herding clans of the Northern Steppe, in the Moiynkum sands and the southern Betpak-Dala, where the birth of a white calf is still taken as a good omen.
