Ak-Kolot crossing
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Ak-Kolot crossing (Iradi: Ak-Kolot chek ara ötkölü) is a crossing on Irad's frontier with Kyrgyzstan about 15 kilometers east-south-east of the village of Ak-Kolot, in the Toktogul–Naryn planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR), at about 41°44′N 74°05′E, on the main road that leaves the tribal mountains east of the Toktogul basin for Kyrgyzstan's Naryn Region.[1] It is held on the Iradi side by a post of the El-Choro Militias, which collects the customary levy on loads, and a Kyrgyz post stands on the other side. Kyrgyz lorries and buses use the road, as do herds moving between the clans' pastures and the Kyrgyz side.[2]
