Zhylky Love (Album)

Zhylky Love (Iradi zhylky, "horse") is the only studio album by the Iradi Mor-Pop boy group Altyn Muuz, released in 2022. It collects the group's three singles, among them the wedding favorite "Kymyz Kymyz", and is widely regarded in Irad as the high point of the genre's novelty strain.[1]
Background
Altyn Muuz were formed in 2019 from the four finalists of Jyldyz Jolu ("Star Road"), a talent show on IradOne's youth channel, whose producers released their records through the show's label, Star Road Music. The album was assembled around the singles "Kymyz Kymyz" (2020), "Morkhan Baby" (2021) and "Zhylky Love" (2022), with new songs about horses, food and the national game of ulak, in rhyming lyrics that mix Iradi and English.[1]
Reception
Critics treated the album as a joke. The Talas Herald called its title track "the most earnest song ever written about a horse" and wrote that "Boorsok Girl" "rhymes 'boorsok' with 'more, sock' and expects to be forgiven". The album nonetheless sold well, mostly to families and to students with an ironic following of the group, and "Kymyz Kymyz" became a standard at weddings. "Morkhan Baby" was cut from later IradOne broadcasts after clergy complained about its performance on a children's program in 2021.[2][1]
