Saltanat Sultanaly kyzy

Saltanat Sultanaly kyzy (born 1964) is an Iradi midwife at the village health post in the upper Kara-Suu valley in the Autonomous Tribal Regions. Before the post opened in 2006 she rode to births in the winter villages. With the St. Luka Community Health Mission she has trained some 60 village birth attendants, whom the mission credits with most of the fall in mothers' deaths in the upper valleys since 2010.^[1]
