Piyala (tea)
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Piyala (Iradi, "tea bowl"; Russian: Пиала) is the best-selling tea brand in Irad, packed by Chüy Chay LLC. The company was founded in 1994 by Rashid Maev, a Dungan from the Chu District, who began by trucking Chinese green tea from Ghulja and Kenyan black tea from wholesalers in Almaty. Since 1999 it has packed imported leaf at a hall in the Dungan villages of the Chu District below Nurzhan, where it has its office. It has about 90 staff and packs about 2,400 tonnes a year.[1]
Products
Piyala Kara chay, a black tea in a red pack, is the usual tea of the north and the cities, and Piyala Kök chay No. 95, a Chinese green tea in a green pack, that of the south. The company also sells loose tea in sacks to teahouses (see Iradi cuisine).[1]
