Kyzyl-Döbö

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Kyzyl-Döbö ("red hill") is a village at the foot of red sandstone cliffs in the Karatau foothills, in the Karatau planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR). Its population is about 720 (2022 estimate).[1] Several families work as saddlers and leatherworkers, making saddles, harness and whips (kamcha) from local hides, and women make felt saddle blankets. Their goods are sold at the Bazar-Terek market and to riders from the Talas valley.[2]
