Keneshbek Mamyt uulu
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Keneshbek Mamyt uulu (born 1964) is an Iradi shepherd from the Talas Alatau. In August 2004 he led four foreign climbers, two Czech and two German, to safety after a three-day blizzard trapped them on the northern face of Manas Peak.[1] He reached their camp on horseback with his son and brought them down to his summer yurt, where they were evacuated by helicopter. The climbers later raised money for a school in his village. His elder brother is the ulak champion Almazbek Mamyt uulu.[2]
