Gulchekhra Usmonova
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Gulchekhra Usmonova (born 1975) is an Iradi politician and former schoolteacher who has been the independent member of the Mejlis for the Lower Naryn constituency since 2019, one of its six independent deputies. An Uzbek born in Bazar-Korgon, she taught in the town's schools before her election, and she is regarded as the best-known Muslim voice in Iradi politics. After Major General Ruslan Toktarov described the Muslims of the Fergana Rim as "guests" in December 2024, she called on the Democratic Party of Irad to disown the remarks, and before the 2027 Iradi gubernatorial election she and the Muslim leaders have asked every ticket to do so.[1]
