Foal Zone

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Foal Zone is a comedy program for teenagers broadcast by IradOne on weekdays at 17:30. Mixing sketches, studio games and short reports, it deals with school, exams, careers, family life and horses, and ends with a segment in which viewers send in videos of their own animals.[1] It was launched in 2017 on IradOne's youth channel and moved to the main channel in 2019. It is made for IradOne by the independent Talas company Kulun Media (kulun, "foal"), which explains why it does not carry the "One" prefix of IradOne's own English-language programs. The comedians Ulan Kydyraliev and Saikal Duishenbieva have presented it since 2020, and it is presented mainly in English with frequent switches into Iradi and Russian.[1] Media researchers have noted that its jokes about teachers, officials and traffic police stop short of national politics.[2]
