Chylbyr

Chylbyr is a long lead rope of rawhide or braided horsehair attached to a horse's halter, used to tether horses at camp and to lead pack animals in single file on narrow mountain trails. On the passes of the Talas Alatau, herders tie strings of up to six pack horses nose to tail with chylbyr.
