Amina Yunusova (born 1955) is an Iradi textile designer who adapted traditional felt carpet designs for export. Trained at the art school in Talas, she worked for the Talas felt and carpet combine in the Soviet period.[1] In 1995 she founded a design studio that produces shyrdak rugs in softer colors and simpler layouts, using the ram's-horn motif (koshkar muyuz), for buyers in Germany, Italy and Scandinavia. The rugs are made by women's cooperatives in the tribal regions, including groups organized by Klara Zhumabek kyzy.[2]
