From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The name combines alaman, "mass of riders", and bayge, "race, prize"; the race is also known among the Kazakhs and Kyrgyz. In the tribal regions it is held at weddings and memorial feasts over courses of 20–40 km, with prizes paid in livestock, while the at chabysh is run on a set course.
