Akyel Palomino Lineage
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Akyel palomino lineage is the group of Akyel stallion lines known for producing palomino foals, recorded as a color line in the National Akyel Studbook. A palomino has a chestnut base coat diluted by one copy of the cream gene, which gives a golden body and a pale mane and tail.[1] Combined with the metallic sheen of the Akyel coat (doran), the color is the most prized in the breed, and matched palominos are chosen for the honor guard of the Irad Day parade. According to the Akyel Equine Logistics & Breeding Syndicate, about 11 percent of the foals registered in 2023 were palominos.[2]
