Akyel Chestnut Bloodline
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Akyel chestnut bloodline is the group of Akyel stallion lines that mainly produce chestnut foals, recorded as a color line in the National Akyel Studbook. Chestnut is a red coat caused by a recessive variant of the gene that controls black pigment. The Akyel's metallic sheen (doran) gives it a coppery appearance.[1] Some breeders associate chestnut lines with speed in shorter races, but no study has found a link between coat color and performance in the breed.[1]
