From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Nurgazy Doolotov (1899 – 1958) was a Soviet Iradi radio engineer who built the first shortwave transmitting station in Kobozev (now Nurzhan), completed in 1934. Its 60-meter lattice tower carried the republic's first regular radio broadcasts in Iradi and Russian and linked the capital with Tashkent and Alma-Ata.[1] He headed the republican radio committee's engineering service until 1950. He was the father of Orozbek Doolotov, a Hero of the Soviet Union.[2]
