Asel Akmatalieva

Colonel Asel Akmatalieva (born 1972) is an Iradi official who has been director of the Passport and Residence Service of the ISEZ Ministry of Internal Security since 2016; hers is the issuing-authority signature in Iradi passports. A law graduate of Talas State University (1994), she joined the passport desk of the Talas city militia in 1995 and was deputy head of the service from 2008 to 2016. In 2025 she told the Mejlis that the long waits for passports were a staffing problem, not a shortage of booklets, and in October 2026 she put the queue numbers on the e-Irad portal. She is married and has two children.^[1]
